MB Teal Crew Member position description (pdf) This is a seasonal position, ~ 20 hours/week, May-October. Crew will be trained to perform duties as ship’s mate, narrator, host and instructor as needed. General background in boating, environmental science and/or education is a plus. Internships
Internships are available throughout the year, and offer great experience working in a team environment with a wide range of clients. Personal interests and objectives are strongly supported. Focus areas include tourism, education, environmental sciences, social justice, sustainability and ecotourism. Further details available below.
Summer High School-Aged Internship Application Period is OPEN!

Four youth crew/internships (July-August, only) will be offered at 15-20 hours/week. These interns will learn job-skills as junior crew on the MV Teal, assist with lake study and educational programs , and pursue personal projects related to their areas of interest. These are not paid positions, however we are happy to work with regional youth employment services. See Position description.
Advanced internship opportunities, for candidates with prior experience, are also available. These positions focus on development and completion of a project proposed by the candidate, which may involve environmental studies, tourism, educational interpretation or other topics. Summer College-Level Internships - closed for 2020
See Position Description. We offer 3 summer internship positions for college-aged students. These positions are flexible to accommodate college schedules, although we strongly recommend that applicants be available by mid/late-May. All positions are compensated and require an average of 20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours. The work involves assisting with interpretive programs on Cayuga Lake and at nearby stream locations, program planning and interaction with other regional agencies, and youth development. Applicant may apply for one or any of three specific focus areas (one intern will be hired for each):
ecotourism program strategic development and marketing
management and interpretation of lake data collected during programs, and
development and mentoring of high school intern experience.
